How to Apply
Applicants do not have to be admitted to the University of Oklahoma in order to enroll in CESL; however, applicants may apply for admission to the University of Oklahoma prior to enrolling in CESL or while completing their English language study.
Students will register during the orientation scheduled for the first day of classes. Fees are payable upon registration. See orientation schedule.
Applicants who wish to be considered for admission to the University of Oklahoma upon completion of their English language study and the achievement of an acceptable TOEFL score should indicate this desire to their United States consulate when applying for the initial United States visa.
Certificate of Eligibility
International students who need a Certificate of Eligibility (Form I-20) from the University of Oklahoma should complete the CESL application form and the Confidential Financial Affidavit and return them to the address indicated on the forms.
The application should be accompanied by a non-refundable $75 processing fee in U.S. funds and a copy of your passport. Upon satisfactory submission of these forms, a Certificate of Eligibility (Form I-20) will be issued. The Certificate of Eligibility can be sent via Federal Express for an additional $50.
Provisional Admittance
If your degree program normally requires a minimum TOEFL score of 550, you can be provisionally admitted to the University of Oklahoma. You must begin your English language studies with a TOEFL score of 500 and then complete 12 weeks (two sessions) of CESL immediately prior to beginning your degree program. See Provisional Admittance for more information.
Residents of the community or other students or visitors may also apply to CESL by completing the CESL application form.
