Provisional Admittance

The Center for English as a Second Language Intensive English Program (CESL IEP) can help you begin your degree program at the University of Oklahoma with our Provisional Admittance.

Admittance into OU

You must have a TOEFL score of at least 550 or equivalent on the computer-based or internet-based test and then meet all the other requirements of the University.

However, you can be provisionally admitted to OU according to the following guidelines:

• Have a TOEFL score of PBT 500-549 (CBT 173-210; iBT 61-78)

• After receiving these scores, attend two consecutive sessions at CESL IEP immediately before entry into OU

• Receive passing grades in your CESL IEP classes and a recommendation from all your instructors

• Follow the guidelines for absences in both sessions

Some graduate programs do not have Provisional Admittance policy as stated above. The following OU graduate degree programs have a 600+ Policy:

• Accounting
• Bioengineering
• Business Administration
• Chemical Engineering
• Engineering Physics
• Management Information Systems
• Physics and Astronomy
• Political Science
• Public Administration
